Owner and operator Tony Emanuel started his joinery career in 1990.
He first worked for Woodline Furniture in Auckland. The company had an unquestionably high reputation for the type of work they did. Synonymous with many of the high profile commercial fitouts at the time, Tony remembers the many huge and expensive boardroom tables, reception areas and boutique bars that were made.
“It was a great privilege to cut my teeth under the guidance of such skilled people” says Tony.
After Leaving Woodline Tony went onto work with other reputable companies Like Essex Cabinetmakers and Ancab shopfitting before setting up his own Joinery shop which he ran with 2 – 3 employees for 11 years before selling up and moving with his family to their new home In Queenstown.
For the First 5 years in Queenstown Tony worked for local company Coronet Woodware, fitting out predominantly large domestic homes. But the urge to give more was too much and in 2015 Tony Emanuel started working for himself again under the name “Wakatipu Joinery”.
Tony loves the trade and the satisfaction it brings. He keeps a boutique, artisan workshop in Glenda drive where he personally designs, makes and installs a large variety of bespoke joinery work.
